In the pursuit of happiness, I find that happiness is a state of mind, a conscious decision to embrace contentment irrespective of external factors. It stands apart from “enjoyment”, “liking”, and “loving”, which are perhaps from experiences and activities in our lives. So we can “enjoy” reading, travel, and socialising, we can “like” playing computer games, and we could “love” indulging in good food. These activities would embellish our happiness rather than being prerequisites for it. “Happiness” is a choice, an internal sanctuary, where the joy of living amplifies every moment, making the journey as delightful as the destinations we explore.
